High end model with slow speeds, delayed action timer and adjustable flash synchronisation

The Leica IIIf was top of the range at the time, in the later years of IIIf production, units arrived from the factory already fitted with the delayed action mechanism (self timer), these are often referred to as ST models.

Curiously, when Leitz initially added slow speed capability (lower than 1/25 second) to their cameras, it was by way of a second slow speed dial on the front of the camera. This carried through all models up to the last LTM camera the IIIg.
